Program Description The Appalachian College of Pharmacy (ACP) offers Virginia's only three-year Doctor of Pharmacy Program.

ACP’s mission is to prepare pharmacists to provide excellent patient-centered pharmaceutical care and systems management to meet 21st century healthcare challenges, with a focus on meeting the needs of rural underserved populations. Through active participation in community health education and rural outreach clinics, students endeavor to improve the quality of life of the underserved members of their communities. Briefly describe your institution's interview process: Selected candidates are offered the opportunity to interview with the College. The candidate interviews are conducted on-campus and virtual interviews can also be arranged on a case by case basis. Candidates are interviewed typically by a two person panel (one ACP faculty member and one pharmacist/preceptor). A panel of students may also participate in the interviews with the candidates. Assessment is based on the candidate's oral communication skills, motivation, compassion, professionalism, leadership, and team skills. A writing sample is collected. Video conference interviews may be offered to applicants living in a foreign country.

If the student accepts the offer a $200 first seat deposit by the specified date in the letter is required. A second seat deposit of $200 is due by March 15th to continue holding their acceptance. If acceptance is offered after March 15th, a full seat deposit of $400 will be required. The first and second seat deposits are credited toward the fall semester tuition upon enrollment. Admitted students may cancel in writing prior to the first day of class in order to receive a refund of all moneys paid less a nonrefundable fee not to exceed $100.
